Shouting and bullying is more than unacceptable, it's also a possible breach of PACE which could make any interview inadmissible if the matter did go to court.

As for sleeping on the neices sofa, did they actually say that themselves?

If the interview is resumed I would suggest going back with a legal rep. Well meaning relatives at interviews are great support but a legal adviser can ensure the interview is smooth & fairly conducted.

Hypotension - low blood pressure. Can cause problems. Dizziness, feeling of weakness, falling over, fainting.

Hypertension - high blood pressure. Can cause problems. Risk of strokes, heart attacks.

Both need treating and regular check-ups.

low blood pressure only needs treatment if other symptoms are apparent.
i have low blood pressure ( average 80/45) but no other symptoms, so they just leave it alone and keep an eye on it. my blood pressure has always been naturally low.

high blood pressure is the one that a;always requires treatment

Sorry for the delayed response to clarify.
I live in the republic and used to be a civil servant in Liverpool ..sorry I haven't updated my profile.
My mum has hypertension . Extremely high blood pressure on tablets and heart medication. I can only apologise for bad spelling as I was at the end of my tether .
They did shout and when I told them to stop, she admitted she had been and apologised but continued to do so intermittently . Both of the officers did and yes it is on tape . As is the suggestion that she sleep on my cousins settee. She does not live with me in Ireland as I haven't the room ( 4 children , 3 bedrooms) and it's very rural and makes her anxious long term .
She is in Liverpool and her family live in watford . She has been trying to move for the last 3 years but to no avail .
She has never stayed for more than 6 weeks and that was when she was hospitalised whilst visiting me .
All her utilities are in her name ( they already had them ). It's very easy to check for house ownership in the Republic of Ireland . It's costs €5 on land direct.ie . I told them this . I offered proof of her regular doctors apps and her families details but they wouldn't take them ! They jus kept shouting that she was lying . The council have said the benefits have been stopped and she is liable for the rent . She cannot take the stress of more debt ( but that's a different story ).
I just wanted to know if anyone had had similar experiences re the 2 month wait etc . They actually told her to move back to Ireland and stop using 'their' money to support her . I did point out that she had been a tax player all her life in the Uk !
She's of an age and state of mind where she just cannot take anymore stress. I have written to her mp and asked for a copy of the tape . They have not sent a written letter specifying the reason, although I think them thinking she owns a house is the reason ? The interview itself was very confusing .
    Hope I've clarified everything ,!

In that case your mum should immediately request the tape of the interview and then visit her local MP with it.

Well, your clarification has just made it sound even more shocking!

She would have also received suspension letters from the DWP advising why benefit had been suspended and recourse action available.

HB cannot be stopped by the DWP and it is down to the local authority to suspend this, but again letters would have been sent out advising reason why suspended and recourse action.
Are you saying that your Mum received no letters at all saying her benefits would be stopped?

    This all sounds very irregular.
Have you asked for a copy of the tape in writing?

The council have said the benefits have been stopped and she is liable for the rent . Quote[/B

What exactly did the letter from the council say?

It is still possible that the council have been informed that your mum's PC has ended and this would automatically end the claim for HB and CT.

But she should still be able to make a new claim based on low income. Has she done this?

The only letter she had said she was to be interviewed under caution and if she didn't attend her benefits would be stopped . She rang immediately , couldn't attend the day they wanted ( hospital app) and brought it forward 10'days . The following day a letter arrived from the council that het rent etc had been stopped as advised by the DWP . I have asked for a copy of the tape , audio and written . The letter they handed at interview was blank , in that the but they should've completed had no details . I had to ring the following day to ask where to get the tape. That man was actually very nice and apologised for it not being completed. When I asked why everything had been stopped before the interview one of the officers just replied 'because I can ' ? I did think it was all rather shocking but didn't know ( not having been in this situation before ) if it was normal ? I have contacted the mo but have had no response yet .
The council told her they will not accept any more claims until notified by the DWP ?

What specific questions did they ask and to which one did they claim that your mother was lying?

About the house mainly . Then they questioned why she was travelling to stay with people when she had a flat . She explained she has been trying to transfer down safe and doesn't feel safe on her own. Her housing provider and the council already knew that . I attempted to give them the details of the sites anð government organisations in Ireland together with travel documents but they wouldn't take it . They then told her at the end she could submit any evidence she wanted , when I asked how , they said they couldn't tell me what to say ! I said I know that I just want how to give them everything they want . The whole procedure was very frustrating. The interview was 11/2 hours and they couldn't put the heating on as it disrupted the tape ! I even offered to go on the internet then and there and pay the €5 but they wouldn't let me .

Being short of accommodation, some councils are clamping down on people who have one of their properties, but leave it vacant to live with someone else.

It looks as though a neighbour has reported the lady's numerous absences.
