IWOOT (I want one of those) - AVOID

Made the mistake of using this website for a present for my father who lives in the USA in December. Ordered and paid online easily enough and delivery agreed for 28th december. That date came and went. I then tried to communicate with their customer services. A complete joke. The only way of communicating is by message after logging into their site. They then respond by email, which you cant reply to other than by going back into the website. First issue - they insist you wait 30 days!!
So i wait 30 days and nothing is received. I then manage another contact to be told i must now sign a form and send it in via the website. I download the form, scan it and then try unsuccessfully to upload it to their website. So i then have to send another message explaining my fustration. I am then provided with an email at last and can send them a form. However i then receive a further email (which i cant reply to) to say that despite including the order reference i have not specified which items i have not received.
By this stage i am on my fourth different cs rep and then send another form which lists the items i havent received. I then receive a further message to say that that order relates to an order for my fathers address not my home address as requested on the form and they cannot accept the form. At this stage i want to shove the order down these pedantic @#$@$€£ 's throats. Should anyone consider using these baffoons please consider this a warning for when it doesnt turn up. IWOOT (I WANT ONE OF THOSE) AVOID AVOID AVOID.

How many bad experiences with a company do you have to have before you are allowed to give a warning?
    Not even wrong

No I am not a compulsive complainer, but consumers should know about the tactics used by IWOOT to delay and not respond properly to genuine complant. 12 weeks ago I ordered goods which have not been delivered. I shouldn't still be in a position where I have neither been offered a refund or goods in replacement.

So I think I am right in warning other customers. Given the experience do you really think I'm going to use them again??

By way of update after a carefully worded email surrounding my rights under the Consumer Rights Act {as advised by this site}. I have been reluctantly provided with a refund. However upon checking they have not refunded postage. When I have just queried this their response {by the eighth different CS rep} was "I am afraid that we are unable to refund you for the postage costs for this as you are still receiving this order, I do apologise for the inconvience with this ". If anyone knows what these lunatics mean by STILL RECEIVING then please advise. How can I receive an order that never arrived that has now been cancelled. Email number nine....

It sounds as though they have refunded the cost of the goods as a "goodwill" gesture, but they have actually been posted, so your father should eventually receive them.

To be fair, there's some good stuff on their website though.
  • Another avoid from me too. Their customer service numbers all cut off after telling you that you should find answers to your question on their website!

After reading around various forums over the past few weeks whilst trying to sort out my own issues with a return, it would appear that the Hut Group is renowned for bad customer service after sale.
