If you're lucky. Same issue on the MK4 and they refused saying it wasn't covered under the definition of their bodywork warranty. They did cover rust on my Passat though.

You don't need to be very lucky , just as long as your wings have the original paintwork , they only check the paint depth and that it is not accident damage and then its approved if original. My sons car is 9 years old just had new wing and sprayed foc. There are hundreds of people who have had success all over the VW forums.
