Hi...just had new gate put in. I need to set the bolt tubes into the ground to take drop bolts. The drive is tarmac....what is best way to get 20mm dia. holes 2-3 inches deep? Gate lads did 2 for closed gate..look neat. Do I get bi wide drill...or one of those circular cake cutter type things? thanks.

Personally I'd use what ever drill bits I had and 'ream' it out to size. You could buy a core cutter but they're quite expensive unless you'll use them again & you'll still have to remove the inner core that this leaves manually by chipping it out etc0

I'd use a 20mm masonry bit in a hammer drill.0

In tarmac can you just hammer them in?. If you've got a metal rod which is slightly under size hammering that in first might help.0
