But I would say that the important thing is the fact that the property in question was purchased with the intention of letting it out for an income so I don't see how the OP can be classed as anything but a business.
If they were letting out a property that they already owned and were only letting it out until they could sell it then I might agree with you, but what is the difference between buying property to let out and buying a shop to sell goods to earn money?

I agree - but it is those types of questions/info that diffierntiates between someone who bought 2 properties for their children to someone who bought 2 as a comemrcial venture.

a court could find 1 is a consumer and 1 is not.

indeed someone who buysa prerty to let it out oculd be a business but someone who inherits one and lets it out could be a consumer - its fact sensitive.

My dog Maxie got his justice for what vet did to him So sad that justice you can get is only shown by compensation. If they pay up they admit their guilt and they did. Wish I had Maxie back.:(

if it is in court, you obviously do not need the opinions of some infantile internet forum!
One hopes that your business sees sense to retain professional advise, that it did not during some rushed purchase!
