According to Which:Deductions from refunds No deduction can be made from a refund in the first six months after purchase. The only exception to this is motor vehicles, where a reasonable reduction may be made for the use you’ve had of the vehicle0 -
We don't know the fee from the full refund yet.
The car was registered in mid November and he's put about 5000 miles on it but many of those were accumulated during the time he was waiting for parts when he thought it could be fixed.
It's been escalated to Audi UK who seem to be being difficult but not to Audi Germany as far as we know.
The courtesy car isn't the same spec and seems to be fine. He has made contact with people online with very similar specs and working cars.
The GPS doesn't work for navigation.
Loskie, if it makes you green that my husband has managed to save for his first brand new car then perhaps you should put some more hours in at work rather than on forums that you don't contribute anything to.0 -
or they will give a full refund excluding a fee for having used the car.
My husband would opt for a full refund but to pay the fee would price any comparative new cars out of his budget and buying a second hand car is unacceptable. We don't know the fee from the full refund yet.
Find out what the fee is. Until you know that, you don't really know if you have a problem.0 -

Its a common misconception that everyone who chooses not to buy a brand new car is jealous of yours. Most couldn't care less how much your car cost, and the ones who do really should get a life. Even if I won the lottery I wouldn't buy a brand new car, on principal. Although I'm glad people do find it 'unacceptable' to buy a used car as it means peasants like us can all afford a nice car in a few years time. Anyway back to the red hot issue of your sat nav not working.....0 -

My wife bought a brand new car because she wanted the feeling that years of hard work was worth something. I told her she could have saved £10k by buying used but she had her heart set on a specific colour and spec which was simply impossible to find used - Even 12 months on I've not seen the spec of her car come up in the used market. The car is now a year old and she loves it. In likely hood she'll keep in for the next 5-10 years. She bought the car for her self not to impress other people.
I personally I'm with you, and would never buy a new car with cash simply because of the crippling initial depreciation, but if you can afford it, why not?? And I certainly wasn't going to start lecturing to my wife about it....After all I enjoy not sleeping on the sofa :rotfl:
To the OP I hope you get things sorted out, on such an expensive car I can understand why you want everything to be 100%. You mentioned Audi offered a replacement car...If it's in the same spec/colour why by go for that option? The only people that win in courts is lawyers.0 -

Precisely.
Whilst I also couldn't care less how much someone else's car cost, as long as it gets out of my way, I can appreciate that if you've saved up for years to buy something, and the one thing that you need doesn't work, then it is a huge problem.
Why on earth can't they fix a simple sat nav?
I'd be finding out the directors of the UK and German operations, buy a book of stamps, and be writing strongly worded letters all the way from the top to the bottom until someone actually fixed the thing, so it did the job that it was supposed to.
I wouldn't be handing the car back and loosing a wad of cash if it was The Very One that I had been saving for for years.
What's with all the envy people?
Why should someone put up with poor service, and then the only solution is to have to drive round in some filthy cast-off that someone else didn't want?I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

A friend of ours bought a new Q5 and they have had nothing but problems, their satnav doesn't work (lights are fine), the stereo only works when using cds and the car is constantly saying tyre pressures are low.
Althought I must point out the top spec q7 is £53, not £60. So if you genuinely paid £60 you've been had.0 -

We know there's some things off the options list - because this thread is about an interaction between the nav and the Night Vision Assist (£2k option) and (probably) the Matrix LED Lights (£950)...
I have to admit to being puzzled as to how the satnav is meant to know when's appropriate for full beam anyway, but that's a separate question.0 -

Maybe for the basic model with no extras, but add on a couple of extras and you can soon be pushing £90,000.
Edit: LOL, AdrianC beat me to it, and obviously has more expensive tastes than me0 -
