I have a Government Gateway account, should I be signing up for the Personal Tax Account? Is that newer/the way forward or is the Government Gateway account continuing? Can you use both alongside each other or is the PTA/digital tax account much better and there is no need to continue using the Government Gateway? Or is it the same? I'm confused.

PS I had a look and logged in, I understand it now. I used the hmrc online for SA tax return which forms one part of the personal tax account website/access. I understand it now. Two step verification. All good.
