I do not fill in a self assessment and i`m not registered at HMRC.
Having searched Google and UK gov, is the only way for me to access the new digital tax account through Verify.

You can still create a Government Gateway account :
https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/coafe/government-gateway/register/route?continue=%2Fpersonal-account%2Fdo-uplift&accountType=individual
(can't remember if access is granted immediately as the id may be sent in the post)
I believe it is likely going forward that the "GOV.UK Verify" id verification mechanism, which is currently in beta, will become the defacto method and that the government will eventually stop issuing Government Gateway IDs altogether, once all the services have been moved over.
Best to use GOV.UK Verify for now as the quickest option.MFiT-T3 #149: {Q4/14} (£46,447)-->(£0) ~ +£46,447=100%

Later this month HMRC will replace the Verify service with a service similar to that which is used to set up Government Gateway accounts. There have simply been far toomany complaints abaout the Verify service for them to continue with it.You can still create a Government Gateway account :

Information i can see (from feb 16) says its going from beta to live in april, not being replaced. I found it a simple, responsive and reliable service in my experience.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
Well I managed to login and have a look at my tax account and basically all I could see was this year 15/16 code notice which I received a year ago.
All the other links I could click on said still under development.
So anyone trying to login and see their account, there`s no rush because it`s not fully up and running and probably won`t be for some time.0 -

Well that is news to many of us!
Do you have any statement/link on this.
The service is any still in beta rather than having been released for general use....which it is intended to do in April0 -
Go to the "Income Tax" section then click on the "View next year's changes" then in the "Tax code" section click "Compare figures for this tax year and next tax year"Well I managed to login and have a look at my tax account and basically all I could see was this year 15/16 code notice which I received a year ago.

Gizmo247, Thanks for that, yes I can see it all now under the income tax section.
I sign in via Gov Gateway and I assume that every time I do they always send an access code by text.0 -
Yes, 2-phase authentication is a welcome if belated addition, particularly as trustee helpers don't need to share passwords.
Interestingly, Barclays has just popped up as a "Verify" provider so they may be arriving too late to the party if "Verify" authentication is going to be dumped. Mind you, they are probably used to their delusions of grandeur turning into damp squibs by nowMFiT-T3 #149: {Q4/14} (£46,447)-->(£0) ~ +£46,447=100%

After a further discussion with those who deal with the PTA it seems that 2 stage security will be introduced but not at the expense of Verify, instead it will run alongside it. So people willbe ableto choose how to acess the PTAChiefGrasscutter wrote: »Well that is news to many of us!

Seems a bit OTT to me to have 2 seperate systems to be able to access 1 personal tax account, but I suppose it gives themtimetointroduce new 'partners' into the Verify system and to make any adjustments to make the process easier.
I understand Barclays recently became a partner and now provides Verify authentication.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Hopefully they will allow Gateway access to other services as well instead of just Verify which not everyone can do.0
