Hi
Is there any insurance wizz that can help.
Hotel booked and trains booked (both non refundable) match tickets booked (can be moved to new date or refunded).
Match has been cancelled with no re-arrangement date as yet.
Could I have been able to claim on travel insurance for hotel and the lost travel expenses?
This is more for future experience as I have rang around (and around) and basically got no where!
Appreciate any help.....thanks.

I'm not an expert but I suspect the answer is probably no, although obviosuly different insurance company policies have different criteria,
Generally, in my experience travel insurance covers you against having to cancel a trip due to death or serious ill health of one of the party travelling or a very close relative. It doesn't include 'discinclination to travel' which is what this would count as. Your main reason for travelling was to go to a match, but there was nothing to stop you using the train and staying on the hotel - you just didn't want to because there was no match.
It was also your choice to pay less for non-refundable train tickets and hotel - you could have chosen to pay a bit more and could then have cancelled and got a refund (all but a £10 admin charge in the case of the train tickets, I think).
I think your only chance of cover would be if you could get a specialist insurance linked to the match itself - but that would probably only be offered in a package which included travel, accomodation and match tickets together.0 -

Whilst these are non-refundable, they can be changed to another date and/or time - subject to a £10 fee per ticket plus any difference in price.
You need to work out whether that is worth doing.
Wait for the re-arranged date to be announced and check ticket availability.0
