Does it have a rev counter?
If so, then whilst you're trying to start it, but it won't, does the needle move?0 -
My experience of faulty crank position sensors is that cold starting becomes difficult. My thinking is that the low battery voltage during starter operation leads to a weakened output pulse from the sensor.....quite analogous to dirty points with the old distributor system. Can be cured simply by cleaning off encrusted road dirt etc. from the sensor.0

Had exactly the same symptoms as yours and the problem with my car (an old Corsa) was the crankshaft position sensor. My garage identified it pretty much straight away and was inexpensive to get it fixed.
Good luck.0 -
Another vote for crash shaft sensor here. Often they go temperamental and cut out when hot. Leaving the car 10 mins allows it to cool down. Give the part is likely t be around £15 and only held on by a single bolt on most cars it would be worth trying a replacement yourself without the need for a garage.0

Just had my mechanic come out and look at it, As all you amazing people have said, it was the crank sensor!
Thankyou all very much for your help, now go and get jobs as mechanics lol!
