It could be one of my favourites..0 -
Little Update
http://made.com - Did not reply to my email but was easy to reach them on the phone. Sofa is made in Asia, They keep some colours in stock. Standard warranty. Returns are paid so if i do not like the sofa must pay 40 or 60 pounds.
http://funique.co.uk - They replied to my email within 5 mins. but when i tried to reach then I was on the line for 10 mins....I was told that the sofa is made in EU. 10 years frame and springs guarantee . I was given 5% voucher for the stock sofas.
http://dfs.co.uk - They guy on the phone was very kind but did not know where the sofa was made, similar warranty to one offered at funique but no Voucher so unfortunately too much over my budget.
Will keep looking and decide shortly.0 -
Just a note about Ikea sofas. I've had my Ikea sofa for over 10 years and it's still going strong.
The covers are removable and although they say dry clean only, I've washed them many times with no problems.0 -
It's only a bargain if the sofa is worth £3000. In the case of DFS, that is very unlikely.
OP the Ikea Stockholm sofas are a very good build and within your budget.
The retailers who run almost continuous promotions buy the stock with the intention of selling at the discounted price. Their target margin is based on the sale price not the higher one. In reality you are only getting product worth the lower price. If the retailer gets someone buying one at the short time it's at the higher price, that's a bonus for them.0 -
Must it be a corner or would a comfy 3-seater with a pouffe to put your feet up on suffice?
We bought our 3-seater Holly in Midnight Brushed Linen for under £1000 from http://www.sofa.com/ and I love it. I purchased an Asda knitted pouffe to go with it and it looks modern, I can lay down, or put my feet up, or have guests.
The frame is lifetime-guaranteed and there is a 100% no quibble returns policy within 28 days.0 -
Harvey's Currently have a sale on, but I was told by the sales guy, to come back over the Easter weekend as they are likely to have cheaper deals on then, if you change the firmness of the cushions, the texture and fabric, that can also make a huge difference in price, it is definitely worth going to one of their stores and getting some quotes and advice.
8 weeks delivery time.
Cargo if you still have a cargo near you they were reducing most of their furniture, as most of their stores are closing down.
NEXT have a sale on at the moment and are selling off display items, in most stores, so it may be worth heading down to a NEXT and having a look.
Argos currently have 20% off if you spend £150 or more on indoor furniture and they have some great looking sofas in your price range.
Other places to look and consider:
Homebase
ASDA
Tesco
Sofology
Sofasworld
DFS
Payment: A lot of places do a 0% finance which might be a good option for you if you are limited on time and price.
I would personally wait until this weekend, as Easter deals will most likely be on at most places, if they are not or already, have a look and a feel of the sofas, it isn't always cheaper to buy online and you can often bargain some sales down or get extras.
Good Luck on your search, I hope you manage to find what you are looking for.Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.0 -

Though why you'd buy from a company who's director lives in Poland and who's only been going one year and whose accounts are overdue is a puzzle op?

Wayfair actually have alot of the faux leather chrome legs that you're after. I don't think these will hold out as long as some sofas though.
I had a sofa from SCS once and it was a dream. Cost me 1.5k and was as comfy as the day I bought it when I left it. (wouldn't fit in the new house) you could look into finance.0 -
hang fire until DFS have a sale you can get proper bargains £3000 sofa for under a £1000 that's a proper bargain
Was looking for a sofa late last year and ended up getting a 'Torino' from Heals which was £3300. Just a few doors down from Heals (Tottenham Court Road, London) is a very large DFS so out of interest I popped in. To claim that a DFS sofa on "sale" from £3000 down to £1000 is the same quality as the Heal's one is just plain laughable. Look online and you'll see huge numbers of people complaining about DFS sofa's.0
