What if completion doesn't happen on due day

Ye I will put insurance in place from day before my completion date and will transfer my deposit this week coming
I will possibly tell my solicitor and the estate agent that if they don't set a date to exchange contracts by end of this working week coming that I may pull out.0 -
The mortgage offer runs for a good while so no worries on that front.
I just want the date of exchange of contracts nailed down now, and a date within March detailed as completion, doesn't need to be the 16th for any reason but it's the date chosen and I will rather stick to it, plenty away from Easter.0 -

You need insurance from the day you exchange, not a day before you complete. If the house burns down two days before you complete you are still legally bound to buy what is now a pile of burned rubble with no insurance to go to for re-build costs. Not worth the risk.
If you are not prepared to follow through on that threat, then there is very little point in making it...I will possibly tell my solicitor and the estate agent that if they don't set a date to exchange contracts by end of this working week coming that I may pull out.0 -
I have no problem following through with a threat, I do not need this house as such.
Fair point, will arrange cover this week0
