Hotel/B&B Recommendations in Cork

I've got to book a room for 2 nights 13th & 14th sept for my parents.
I've been trawling trip advisor/late rooms etc & have found a few. I've also looked on the www.cork-guide.ie website but that just kerfuddles me!
But I was just wondering if any of you lovely mse'rs had any personal recommendations for somewhere to stay thats good value for money. Also, the cheaper the better - I'm skint
They are flying across so somewhere pretty central would be preferable.
Any tips on what to do would be good as I've never been so wont know what to suggest for them
And they wont be able to plan anything as they dont know they are going until next week comes:rotfl:
