Vietnam Airlines cancelled flight

I have done this and been advised same thing that the requested flights cannot be offered due tight availability of seats.
If you have any query, Please feel free to contact me.
For goodness sake, that's not a very good response from TravelUp! Doesn't seem like they're interested at all in getting me onto an alternative routing.
Does anyone know if it would be possible for me to open a dialogue with Vietnam Airlines directly? Or does it all need to go through TravelUp?0 -
I think if you didn't book with VA they won't discuss it with you.travelover0

I'm at a bit of a loss then about what to do. I think my options are to either try and cancel the flights altogether (and get a full refund, hopefully), and then rebook a different indirect route. Or to move onto a Vietnam Airlines flight on the Saturday 26, although that would mean we'd lose 1-2 days of our holiday

Travelup have to sort it out. What options are they giving you?travelover0

As it stands they are basically saying our only option is to accept the originally proposed alternative flight.
Both me and my partner are currently trying to get the additional days holiday approved from our employers. Not ideal as we wanted to save our holiday allocation for later in the year, but at this stage I'm struggling to think of a better option.0 -
Ask Travelup to reroute you to the Air France flight (which is actually Vietnam Airlines but via a code-share). Evidently the only economy seats remaining on that plane are those that have been allocated to Air France.
There is no law that says that an airline has to use its own metal when it re-routes you.0 -

That's what I'd ask for too, but given that the flight is from Hanoi rather than HCMC would Travelup have to agree to that rather than their preferred option of the earlier flight from HCMC?0 -
OK it's all sorted now. We are flying back home 2 days later than we'd originally booked for, but I'd rather that than 2 days earlier. What a huge, huge palaver that was though!0

Good. I was there in January and PompeyPete recently, what's your itinerary?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

My sister moved out to Hanoi last year in November, so visiting her is the main purpose of visit. We are flying into Hanoi, 3 nights there, then overnight train down to Hoi An, 3 nights there, then overnight train down to Saigon, then 3 nights there, then fly home. Can't wait! Any tips or suggestions on things to do/see/eat/drink?0
