I guess it depends on which part of the country but whats an average day rate for this sort of thing?
I.e. Fitting bathroom inc plumbing, fitting bathroom cupboard, fitting laminate floor.
Recent work done was approx £240 a day.

it depends how quick/good he is.Were you happy with his previous work?
How many hours did he work for £240?
Ask him for a fixed price0 -

Very good job. Full working day 9-5.0 -
If you are happy with £240 a day, and his work, then stick with your guy. You will get it cheaper, but you may not know what you are letting yourself in for.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

I would never advise any homeowner entertain any tradesman that prices new works on day rate you end up with the rip off merchants and cowboys....0

The OP is happy with his quality of work. The job is small. In this instance a day rate from a trusted, known tradesman is a no brainer. There is obviously a good working relationship between both parties.
Obviously if the job was large a few quotes would be order of the day.0
