JackieO. The bank treats hubby like gold. Nothing is too much effort. They know him by name and treat him with the same respect he gets when he buys a new car...money talks I'm afraid. Shouldn't be this way but it is.

The funny thing is he can go into an unknown branch of his bank in his work clothes and they turn their nose up at him. They bring up his details on the screen and their faces change.

Disgusting when you think about it really.

    Hi everyone,

It's the third day of DH working from home today. I asked him what he wanted for dinner tonight so that I can ignore his suggestions like I have the last two nights lol. It's not intentional, just a case of what ingredients I have and not wanting chicken thighs two nights running!

I need to wrap DS' fiancee's birthday presents, she is 30 tomorrow and she has been with DS since they were 16. She has become a lovely woman who works incredibly hard and makes DS very happy. I hope she likes her main gift, I bought her a smart bag for work (she is a solicitor) because she tends to carry her laptop and files in a ratty sports bag. I thought she might appreciate a smarter bag for visiting clients - she works with big companies because she is a tax litigator.

TA, my DD is driving up to the Hellifield house tomorrow so I hope there won't be too much snow around.

    Have a good day.

    Morning all,
Hugs to all who want/need one :grouphug:

Haven't been around to post for a while but i certainly lurk and take an interest in what is happening :D

Trying to keep busy at work but it is a slow one today, i much prefer being busy as it helps the time go quicker.
Quite chilly today but dry at least. Yesterday was miserably wet and very windy. Hopefully it stays dry for school run later. DD is having her friend for tea so i'm just doing something quick - pizza with garlic bread and cucumber/carrot sticks, might pop some wedges on too.

JackiO - I bank with Lloyds and have done since i was 16. They are a lovely, helpful team in my local branch, can't praise them enough. Excellent customer service!:T

Unfortunately it seems March is going to be a slightly tight month, i have lots of extras to pay - DD's karate insurance and belt grade are due, she needs new shoes and trainers, i need to de-flea the animals too. I don't like dipping into my savings, unless i really need to, so i'm going to scale the food shop back this month. I have lots in so we will be fine, will just purchase the essentials each week. I normally spend £100 a month (this includes pet food and cleaning supplies etc).
Always living payday to payday! Although i know i am due a good pay raise in July so hopefully things won't seem so stretched then.

Right, to get some work done.
    Have good days everyone! xx

    Morning :)

Popped to the shops first thing. I was looking for another top to wear with leggings but ended up buying a pair of jeans instead. Good old Sainsburys, they do some nice bits and pieces.

Had a bit of a worry earlier, rang dad and left a message thinking he was probably in the bathroom. Still hadn't heard back half hour later, sent a text and waited. Thinking to myself that I'd have to pop up and see if he is ok. Thought I'd ring once more and he answered thank god! He is hosting a meeting for his Bowls club and he seemed to think I was supposed to know!!!

Just me and DH for dinner tonight so it will probably be fish.

    Good afternoon everyone

I've had a quiet few days and they were much needed. Today my eldest has just left after popping in to borrow some ladders. She told me that her daughter is doing a project at school about treasured things. Apparently I am on her list as a treasured thing :D, I could not love that little girl and her brother more if I tried. They are coming round tomorrow as it is her 8th birthday on Sunday and we have cards and presents for her.

I am still knitting lots of little chicks for Easter. I got bored with yellow so I now have pink, blue and purple chicks too. I'm just waiting for some ribbon to finish them off and then I can get them in the post.

I've taken some chicken out for tea and am just waiting for inspiration to strike. It will probably be made into sweet and sour as I have all the ingredients for that. Yesterdays chicken pie went down a treat and the girls preferred my hm pastry to shop bought so I will be making some more and stashing it in the freezer.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Afternoon all
I couldn't find the thread this morning before I went to work, so couldn't post.
I was glad I had a full set of uniform when I arrived at DD's this morning as DGS had nothing, not even clean underwear.
I still managed to get to work on time but only by the skin of my teeth.
AOD, I get a good 6 hours sleep every day, unfortunately I get 2 hours between 5 & 7pm, another 2 hours between 11 and 1 and anther 2 hours between 4am and 6 am.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

Very happy with how it went this morning.Staff were pleasant and even the branch manager came out to welcome me . So nice to see a human being instead of a machine All signed up and the changeover will go through smoothly hopefully They sort out all of the d/d and s/o and inform everyone that my bank has changed so I have no need to do anything :):):) now that's how service should be.
  • JACKIE - we are quite lucky here with our selection of banks fortunately. We are with Natwest and Santander but I don't go in much as I do online banking. On the odd occasions when we do need to go in we are met with courtesy in both. And, no, we haven't millions stashed away either! I guess we are lucky.

SNOOZER - depending on what time your DD is driving up I think she may meet snow! Our forecast is for snow falling heavily through the night, causing significant disruption to rush hour traffic. Oh no, it sounds a repeat of yesterday! And today has been lovely, blue sky and sun. Still cold of course!

We got our shopping done this morning and got home to find the Stayfresh bags I had ordered on the doormat. It took me ages to put all the fruit, veg and salad stuff away as I just had to pack everything up in them before putting away! The fridge is now stuffed with luminous green bags!! I haven't been able to buy any locally for ages so ordered these from Amazon.

Enjoy the rest of the day folks xx
