painting shed / fence

Will have to paint once the weather brightens. Parts of the shed and fence are covered in green (fungae? mould?). Can I just paint over or is that just too lazy and counter-productive?
What's the easiest way to remove before painting if it must be done?

I would treat it before painting. This type of product :-

Too lazy, I'm afraid. The stain/preserver won't take evenly, and it'll look carp. Won't preserve the wood well either.
Wire brush in very dry weather, even a stiff broom. Or a pressure washer. You can use a fungicide first, but you'll still need a good brush when dry. Even biological washing powder works wonders, and is much cheaper.0 -
Just buy a new Shed GMNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

A pressure washer should do the trick - obviously you'll need to leave it a couple of days to allow it to dry out thoroughly before you paint it.0

Just use creosote.0

You'll have to tell GM where to get it.... nudge, nudge.Gloomendoom wrote: »Just use creosote.
Strictly under the counter nowadays.
I just say I'm a farmer. That covers me for having baler twine holding my trousers up too.
