Lost function to paste material copied from web pages in Firefox

Very soon after I updated to the latest version of Firefox a few weeks ago I lost the ability to paste from a web page. Cut and copy work fine, but when I go the document I want to paste onto the paste button is dead. Control & v doesn't work either. A second problem within the workings of Mozilla Firefox leaves me unable to log in to ask the question on Firefox Support - quite complicated but totally their fault. I reverted to an earlier version of FF but that didn't work; I just wondered if my issue sounded familiar to anyone as I'm not sure what I can do. I have to admit I'm not techie, but can follow instructions reasonably well. Having said that, I seem to be unable to start Firefox in safe mode which was a start point in a Google search I did!
Any advice gratefully received.

Works fine here with FF 44.0.2 and Word.
Did you try both Ctrl+C and Right Click > Copy in FF?
Does Ctrl+C work in other programs?
Drag&drop works fine here too.0 -
I can copy fine whichever way I want - or cut for that matter. It's when I want to paste onto an Office worksheet or document that the paste is not lit up and I can't paste. I know it doesn't have to be the fault of the latest FF update, but it doesn't work in either. I reverted in case it was an incompatibility issue like that between latest Roboform and Firefox versions a year or two ago.0

I think you'll need to tell us your versions otherwise we're working in the dark. For instance, I'm on FF 45.0b10 and Word 2016 in Windows 10, and copy and paste works fine for me.0

Should also have mentioned I am using 44.0.2 as you are. I hadn't tried drag and drop but can't paste with that either. Here's a discovery though! You got me thinking it was nothing to do with Firefox, however.........
I've just brought up Internet Exporer, copied from the first web page, and bingo - paste button is lit up and the item pastes perfectly. I have to take it therefore that it has everything to do with Firefox. I know that people have been having some such issues but as I can't log in to ask my specific question I have to make do with Googling and try and make the best of what I can find. To pre-empt a suggestion - I can't change browser without losing 200 or so bookmarks! At least I've found something out.0 -

Looks like some problem with Office then, not FF.I can copy fine whichever way I want - or cut for that matter. It's when I want to paste onto an Office worksheet or document that the paste is not lit up and I can't paste.
Can you copy&paste from FF to FF? From Office to Office? From other browser to Office?0 -
I'm using the latest Firefox version, and it's only about 2/3 weeks old which is when I lost paste. The particular worksheet I am trying to paste to is using Office 10 Starter. I had until recently only the Starter programmes that came with the Dell laptop. What may be relevant is that along with thousands of other Starter users I've recently found that some documents I produced and saved using Starter can't now be opened. Someone advised me to get Libre Office and I've downloaded that. I've tried successfully to open one of the problem worksheets using Libre, so probably can access all old docs and worksheets with Libre. It may be relevant as well that I found I can paste from a Firefox web page to a new Libre worksheet but not to the Office Starter one I need to be using.

Where are you trying to paste to?
I find some forums (and I think Facebook and/or Youtube used to do it), where I cannot paste anything. It's akin to those ****** sites that disable right click, making it impossible to open a link in a new window/tab.
Also worth a look...........

It's all in the OP, and repeated later, paste in Excel and Word. I don't know what Office 10 Starter is although the name might suggest it's either a cut down version of Office 2010 or a more recent version that has come with Windows 10 from Dell.
OP, two possible routes for you to try:
1) Do what I have done and move to the FF beta release channel to get FF 45, which works fine for me (although I don't recall any issues when I was on 44).
2) Export your FF bookmarks and import them into another browser, for example https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-bookmarks-internet-explorer0
