Hi!
I have a trade event coming up in June that we will be attending as a stall holder and one of the provisos is that we have public liability insurance in place.
We will have a basic table, no electricity, no sharp things.. nothing of danger! Just leaflets and some pre-packed retail food stuffs. Can anyone point me in the direction of a low cost insurer that is not going to provide very basic cover. Oh, and we are unlikely to attend other events needing cover in the year.
Many thanks
Mark

Do you not already have business insurance that can be extended ?
You need to speak to a business insurance brokers to discuss what cover you are wanting. Is it customers at the trade event tripping over your stall or someone trying your product and choking to death ?The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Have you looked at CMTIA co uk
They provide a product and public liability cover for £50 a year.
You would have to ask them whether it is suitable. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. Thanks Huckster
Yes, we have PL insurance for our shop so maybe we could extend it.. I'll check. IT's purely in case someone falls over the table or something like that.
I'll look at CMTIA too thanks

Thanks for all your help. Contacted our current insurers and sure enough we do have basic cover included. For a small (cough!) sum we can upgrade further options if we need.
Cheers

It may well be better in the long run to ask them to adjust the policy to cover trade shows on a permanent basis as for a temporary event, most of the fee will be to cover the administration in adjusting your policy0
