natwest online Scam

Just tried to log in to my Natwest online account, but Firefox is picking it up as a fraudulent page. Has anyone else come across this?

Yes, but I dont think its a scam. Its just not been updated in their records or something I tihnk.
  • I've just had the same, but everything looks to be in place as usual so i agree that its a fault on firefox/googles behalf
  • hi i dont know if this has anything to do with the post above but i do not bank with natwest but i have received 5 emails today stating i need to update online banking details with a link that direct you to what looks like a natwest page asking for personal details all emails have natwest as sender with a title of updating bank details then in brackets it has mess id followed by number when i clicked on the link out of curiosity it said a fraudulent page had been found
as i said i dont know if this is the same thing but i would hate someone who really does bank with them to be caught out
    thanks boots

I have had these emails all weekend too, a little worrying as I do bank with Nat West and recently had my account comprarmised and I am waiting for a new activation code for my online banking.
  • That is a message when you log onto the Natwest website advising customers there are hoax emails going round asking you to update your account and put in your details which is fraudulent. I think they are introducing new security checks and they sent me a letter 2 weeks and ago and today I received this thing thats like a small calculator which you insert your card, type your pin in and it generates a number you use when doing online transactions. Has anyone else received one who banks online? I am a little worried about using it incase that is a fraudulant device. I am little worried about fraud considering my card was clonned a few years back

The gatchet you describe is being provided by some banks and is genuine. The fraudulent spammers would not have your details and would not spend money sending you a machine which is only there to generate a number to guarantee a payment online to genuine retailers.
  • Thank you LittleVoice I get a little over paranoid these days!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hubby received one of those card readers from Natwest the other day, but they had told him it was being sent.

    Oh, are they introducing that?
I wonder if it's for all customers, I still haven't received anything...

I have the same for my old bank in switzerland, it's really the best in security because it only works with your card and the random generated input code :)
