How to correctly declare accident

The OP wants the correct answer.True except that the OP is "Shopping around" so not really practical to ask every insurer that quotes.
Unfortunately this thread's argument doesn't assist him.
Getting an authoritative answer is a good solution - there is only one "correct" way to do it!0 -

I have spoken to my insurer and the advisor said that that i needs to be declared for both. He added that comparison sites confuse the issue by not asking the right questions to ascertain the correct circumstances, so for it to be declared accurately i should be able to simply list is as a "claim as a named driver" and for my wife as a "named 3rd party drive accident." - so it shows im the risky driver, but the accident didnt cost my insurers, and my wife is the less risky, but it was her policy a claim was made about.
So when it comes to renewal i will do plenty of shopping around. Having 7 years no claims means that the difference between listing it once or twice (like i ought to) is probably nominal0
