  • Morning (((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) if you need one.

No snow here, bright blue sky and some wind, hope to get a line of laundry dry, its in the washer, will put it out before we go to the coffee morning.

I have the sneezes, there must be something in the house that has irritated my nose, this happens from time to time, I can sneeze for England and then it just goes off.

Did not light the fire until after 5pm yesterday, so just one shovel of coal and a piece of wood. Will have to empty the ash pan this morning.

Mince out for spag bol, will cook the sauce when we get back, we also need to get the TV mag from the post office.

OH had his stitches out, his arm has healed quite well, he still has to be careful that he does not spilt the skin again. The nurse got another splinter out of his finger yesterday, he has to go back in the morning for it to be checked. The tip of his fonger is no longer red, so the inflammation is dying down.

Oh no, I spoke too soon. The snow started with a vengeance 15 minutes ago and already we have a thick covering and no signs of it stopping. I don't think we will be venturing out any time soon and I am worrying about DD who is still out on the school run. She'll never get her car back up our steep hill. Ours is always the first to be closed to traffic. Oh I hate snow and the disruption it causes. Stay safe anyone else who's got it xx

Still no snow here though the hills of Jura are covered in it - look like rock cakes with icing sugar. My delivery came early and the driver said there's a sprinkling of snow in the town, here it's just raining - that spiky rain. I hope you stay OK TA and that your DD is safe.

Booked my car in for it's first service on Tuesday, I'll be heading back down to Glasgow for Mum's birthday on Wednesday so it makes sense to get it done then. Will sit and wait for it as there's nowhere to go unless it's a fine day and I can wander off to the coffee shop, get my steps in!

Now that I've got the G*ech handheld, and it's really good, I think it's too heavy for Mum to hold - the battery is quit weighty. Perhaps I just need to get her a dust-buster type thing? Now, do I keep it for upstairs or send it back? Mmmm...

Off to do some more emailing, never ends.

    Afternoon all,

It's a chilly one today. Had a few sleet showers earlier and I am hoping that is it.

Sorted out some clothing and unused duvets for the local Homeless Charity this morning. I made some buns and also managed to make a liner for the little person's buggy out of an old imitation sheepskin underblanket. Rather surprised at how well it turned out.

I've put some chicken pieces in to a marinade I made as I intend to do curry for dinner tonight and found it tasted better doing it this way.

New series of Grantchester tonight :)

The new council tax bill popped into my email inbox already, council are on the ball! I normally pay it all up front but will wait a couple of weeks yet, must put a reminder in the calendar.
I'm hoping our Council get them sent out soon; I've deliberately over-estimated the rise from last year, in order to put sufficient aside (I rake back what's over later on) but an actual bill would enable me to do the spreadsheet accurately.

My new WM arrived yesterday; the chaps from JL were brilliant, they removed the old WM (Mr LW had disconnected it ready for them) and had the new one in and connected up in next to no time! Tried it out this morning - it's different controls, but I think it'll be easy to get used to. And it's so beautifully quiet! :o

Evening all, I had to leave at the crack of dawn, well very early if not exactly that, now back but totally cream crackered. I am still using up my annual leave so not at work next week though I will do a few appointments and I have reports to read and sign off. People are starting to notice how tired I am and I just don't know what to do. I cannot quit, I am the breadwinner and have been so for many years.

Rain and a little bit of sleet here, no snow so far.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • Night out with the girls cancelled! Two cancelled, followed by another two, leaving just two of us prepared to venture out, so we called it off! I was a bit miffed at the time as this morning's snow has all but gone but, now I am sitting here in my pj's and big fluffy dressing gown all nice and cosy, I am quite pleased not to be turning out! Unfortunately I will have to sit here and endure the football Mr TA wants to watch!

This mornings snow came down thick and fast for a good couple of hours, giving us a fair old covering but, when the sun came out, it soon started to thaw. We were finally able to drive across town to DB's for our sausage order by mid afternoon. Mr TA doesn't enjoy visiting them as they have five cats and he's not a cat lover! It's sod's law they all attempt to jump on his knee but ignore me who is the cat lover!

Have a nice evening if you can xx Special big (((HUG))) for AOD, you sound so fed up and weary. Is it at all possible you could reduce your hours a bit?

Sorry to hear that your meal has been cancelled TA but listening to the sleet hitting the window the idea of cosy pjs sound a lot better to me :)
Well the vet had a look at Bill and agreed that, whilst he seems a lot happier in himself and is certainly moving much easier, he is still lame in trot. So all in all the injections haven't really done much to help him. They obviously injected straight into the joint to help with inflamation etc but it's probably the extra cartlidge / bone that is causing him the problem. So, she has suggested that we pop him onto Bute for a while to see if that helps. It may be that warmer weather when he can be out more (limited to two hours at the moment ) will help, let's hope so. Think we are safe to say that we won't be worrying the selectors for the Rio Olympic squad and don't if will compete at any dressage level again :( BUT he can still be ridden, if only in walk, so we can hack out and as long as he is pain free that's all I care about. Given what happened to poor Daisy a few weeks am just thankful still have my best pal with me.
Anyways, time for Grantchester, night all xx
