Personally I thought it was wrong to stop the collections and I am glad they have reintroduced them.
But the original action was part of much larger money saving actions like removing the choice of making your own pizza or the more much worse removing the catering kitchens for staff.
I think Asda is on the road to hell now all because thy can't compete with the likes of Aldi or Lidl.
Even though Asda are owned by one of the biggest stores in the world,Walmart. The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0 -
Clearly supermarkets are businesses and ultimately these are a cost with, most likely, no tangible return on investment.
Yet the goodwill of your customers should be factored in. While I understand Asda is doing a lot on the community front in other ways, as it shows on its blog, in community help terms providing what I consider a token wonky veg box trial in a few stores on the one hand, apparently joining in with the war on waste, is small fry compared with a nationwide food bank collection.Could you do with a Money Makeover?

I cannot see how this would have any real or meaningful cost, the space taken up by the donation point is minimal, and the costs associated with getting the food to the food bank will also be minimal, if any, considering many will collect. In addition, the food purchased to put in the food bank is most likely to be bought in store.0

I didn't realise that ASDA had removed them.
They do seem to be making some poor decisions recently. Like replacing one "pirate parking company" with probably the worst one, but that's for another forum.
How do you tell a Tory supporter in a supermarket? They're the one taking stuff out of the food bank bin and putting it back on the shelves. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?
