Quoted VAT included in price but not VAT registered

As the buyer is VAT registered, I would suggest the buyer more likely wanted to know the price exc. Vat as that is presumably what the buyer accounts for.
Put another way, as the buyer is VAT registered, they presumably don't care what added VAT, if any, is added to the final invoice.0 -
I put at the bottom of my invoices and quotations that "I am not registered for VAT and do not charge VAT". I made this up myself and I am sure that there are others ways of expressing it. My clients include non-business clients so that is why I put "I do not charge VAT" as well as "I am not registered for VAT"0
