Bleach stain on oak worktop - help!!

:o Was multi-tasking in the kitchen last night (as you do) and poured some bleach on my oiled oak worktop to sterilise after beating up a chicken!! Had to attend to something else and a minute later when I went to wipe it it had left a stain - like when you pour water onto wood and it leaves a darker mark. I thought it would dry out but it hasn't. What can I do? It looks terrible.
Many thanks

SPANIEL36 - won't tea just make the stain darker?

To be honest, wood is not the most user friendly material to use as a worktop, as you have unfortunately discovered.

The only way to get the finish back to as it was, is probably to have the top skimmed and resurfaced, as long as the bleach has not bitten in too deep.

The kitchen installers are probably the best people to do this.

Any attempt at a DIY solution could do more harm than good.

We've had them 18 months now and I give them more TLC than I give OH!!!
Did try pouring on water and scrubbing with soft brush last night - removed oil but also soaked out bleach and looks much better so may just strip back both pieces, scrub down and re-oil
