I am off to USA in April but luckily I renewed my passport last month so that I could have my ESTA on it for 2 years as my current one runs out this month
I take it you mean 2006?
Did you renew it before March 2006 but have months added on so it doesn't expire until October 2016?
As all passports issued after 7th March 2006 should have one I would imagine you are the exception rather than the rule that has somehow slipped through the net, most likely as I said above because you renewed before March.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
If you don't have an ePassport you can still travel to US you just need to apply for a visa before you travel.
Costs: cost of application for visa ($100?), expensive phone call, travel to London, time (which for some will be loss of earnings). For many/most, it would be cheaper and more practical to get a new passport.0 -
