Saw a C.D./Radio mini system on Argos for 50 notes (cat. no. 580-690) and liked the look of it 'cos it was one which played 5 cds and it was just about in my price range. With my memory, after I had listened to the first 2, I would have forgotten what the remainig 3 that I had selected were and it would have been a surprise to hear them. However the spec said that the output was 2 watts per channel, isn't this a little on the low side ? The picture of it shows speakers, I do not want to annoy the neighbours and thought that it could be a typing error and should be 20 watts per channel but an e-mail to Argos confirms that 2 watts is correct. If I do buy it, is it gonna cost a few bob in hearing aid batteries to hear it ?

Its not unusal for cheap small mini and micro systems to have speakers with this rating. Its similar to portable cd/radios. They can sound really tinny unless they have a bass boost. I don't think you'll be annoying your neighbours and it's OK for quiet listening but these sound quite horrible when you turn the volume up, in my experience..0
