Accused of shoplifting

Hang on - can we get some clarification from 'MSE ForumTeam3' as to why my posts and the posts of others are being edited because they dared quoted some text from hollydays?
None of which was offensive in anyway shape or form. hollydays made an accusation that I was digging myself a hole and then spectacularly backtracked when asked for sources to support their argument - what I don't understand is why nobody is now allowed to talk about this?
The end result is my posts now look completely out of context and as if I'm having a go at hollydays for the sake of it.0 -

Welcome to MSE selective editing...none of what has been said really warrants MSE Towers intervention...perhaps the rarely here Board Guide could perhaps comment...or perhaps?
The last time the Board Guide posted....according to MSE search was 20/1...hardly what you would call an active member.0 -

I doubt many guards would want to risk that on the say so of a random stranger.
I thought that was obviously what my post meant without needing it to be spelled out in detail, but it seems not.0 -
In this case, no. But if a security guard were to prevent someone from leaving a store without reasonable belief that a crime had been committed that would be an unlawful arrest and possibly an assault if force were used.

We are discussing this case and what the OP posted...not a 'what if' scenario. How wide an irrelevant situation you want to suggest is not relevant to the discussion in question.0 -

The rest of the discussion has moved on to how security guards should approach situations where they get a report from a customer but haven't seen events themselves.0 -
From the forum rules:Q. Why has my post/thread been removed without telling me?
A. Posts and threads are deleted so we're no longer "publishing" them. You may have posted it, but once we're made aware of it - we may become legally liable too, as the publisher. When something is deleted, it's removed from public view but it's still viewable by the Forum Team and can be reinstated if it needs to be. It won't show up in a forum search.
We never contact people when their posts are deleted. The sheer number of posts removed every day means it's simply impossible to contact everyone.
The Forum Team won't respond to aggressive emails demanding to know why a post/thread's been removed but if you send a polite email asking, it may review or explain the decision where possible (sometimes legal reasons prevent this). If you're still unhappy, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
You may not have noticed, but we established the facts about the OP's case within about 5 posts of the original question.

You are missing the point...as ever the OP is left least best served as usual with the discussion 'moving on' by people who think they 'know' best.
They never/seldom do!0 -
