iPhone Warrenty

Hi all

Just seeking some clarification as a little confused by something I was told by Apple today.

My iPhone was replaced in Oct and now my new one is playing up but Apple won't replace because I'm 63 days out of warrenty. Apparently when they replace the handset you only get a warranty on the new phone for the length of time that was left on the previous phone?

I'm a little confused over this as its a brand new unit so shouldn't it come with a fresh warranty?

apple are correct, the warranty is from the original purchase otherwise conceivably you could have a never ending warranty

It's 3 months or the remainder of your existing warranty if longer.

Would be nice but unfortunately the world is full of p*** takers and free-loaders so if this was the case 90% of people would wait till the end of the warranty then start twisting their faces at Apple in order to have the phone replaced for a new one - repeat ad nauseum.

Thanks I just wanted to make sure as the guy in Apple didn't seem convinced in what he was saying and kept saying it was an old phone which confused things slightly.

    Cheers everyone
