Government reply to the petition

Government reply to the petition

Government recognises the importance of achieving greater fairness for the motorist, which is why we have taken several legislative actions in recent years and are actively considering further changes

Government has already implemented a number of changes which have achieved greater fairness for motorists at the local authority level, including restrictions on the use of CCTV and the introduction of a 10 minute grace period for parking. However, we are aware that concerns about the private sector remain among many individuals and organisations. For this reason, we launched a discussion paper last year entitled ‘Parking reform: tackling unfair practices’, which sought thoughts and comments on the private parking sector. A wide range of issues were raised, including the level of fines charged by private parking companies and the lack of an independent regulator for the private parking industry.

The Government is considering these issues alongside others raised in response to the discussion paper, and will issue a response in due course.

Department for Communities and Local Government

In other words, government for the moment approve this scam.

Doesn't give you much confidence when the official government statement includes.......... including the level of fines charged by private parking companies!

I noticed that Jim .... FINES ? Who mentioned fines, we all know that the word is taboo
  • That was all the response was ever going to be because
    a. The DCLG are yet to report
    b. It's all a 10,000 vote petition requires

The DCLG need to wake up then from their current hibernation

thanks for the info as I was wondering when they might reply

BUT, its still S.S.D.D. and not news (not your fault I know)

its just more of the same "holding pattern" , like a plane going rounds in circles dumping fuel, getting nowhere and no idea when it might actually land so people can move on

what we really need is for the dclg to publish their details for the future and implementation dates, because we filled in that questionnaire survey almost a year ago

its more a case of "still they do nothing", when actually doing something is called for

so more non-news I am afraid

I know, it is indeed a rubbish reply. To wait a year is beyond belief and now raises the thoughts of what is in the coffers for the government. ???, maybe particular ministers, maybe the DVLA ?

The question of why the government allows this scam is now paramount and people must ask why and that is to their local MP.

which is one of the many things I have done over the last 20 months (including filling in that survey , getting the Beavis petition signed , helping to crowdfund the Beavis court case etc), but my MP is on the opposition benches and although he has attended and spoke on these issues in parliament (which I have watched on tv and online) he has failed so far in any meaningful attempt to "fix it" , not even in the NHS debate on the matter in august 2014

I also watched him speak on behalf of WASPI last week , again on the opposition benches, yet that vote was lost by about 20 votes and that petition was over 100k !!! (Beavis is only over 10k at the moment)

So in your view, are we talking about back handers or pure corruption here

I have no view on conspiracy theories, all I know is I have campaigned for change for 3 years like many others on here and have seen NO meaningful changes yet, as I said in your other thread

I suspect that a lot of the "old hands" on here have similar experiences and paperwork, but I dont see why they have to justify themselves, they just keep plugging away in the background , like I said recently to you in that MIL collections saga

a lot happens behind the scenes, just because you dont see it, or because you are new to it , doesnt mean it doesnt happen , especially those helping others to win court cases ;)

ps:- I have also been campaigning on the WASPI saga even before WASPI got together and Martin Lewis got onboard (late I might add) yet despite all thats gone on including several parliamentary debates, nothing has been done (maybe that is backhanders or corruption too ?) - I know my wife is one of those badly affected by it

like I said, its non-news until its actual NEWS

so when nothing changes, its not news

I respect everyone on here who help to win court cases.
I do not expect anyone here to justify themselves. My questions still remain and maybe campaigning is now a useless tool especially after 3 years.

By saying " a lot happens behind the scenes" means very little to all those newbies we see everyday being scammed. You make it sound like a secret club for members only
