6 Months until default drops off

Hello, I've got 6 months until my now one and only default is due to drop off my credit file. Should I wait until it drops off before applying for mortgage or with only 6 months left will it not make too much of a difference?
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Depends how marginal the rest of your application is.0

How do you mean?
My partner has no issues with their report & we both have decent wages. My only thing is an account previously sold off that I'm paying off monthly (default now ended) & a default due to end in August of a previously closed account.
Thank you0 -
If affordability was tight, or you have less than stellar management of your finances in the past, an old default could tip the balance into a decline.
But if everything else is fine, then it shouldn't cause any problems.
If you have any doubts, engage a broker to place your mortgage.0 -

Thank you - everything else is fine. We've come a long way since this default was original listed.
Thanks again0
