ESA WRAG upgraded to Support

Options
Just had dreaded medical and had not heard from DWP so contacted them and they seem to think i am in Support group now.
Asked about back pay as i filled ESA 50 form 2.5 years ago and only just had medical 3 weeks ago!

i have been on incapacity then moved to drag and now support so not a new claimant.
DWP worker said i should get back pay for 92 days or something, is this correct and how much extra will i get?

its only an extra £5 a week, but if its income related you will get the enhanced disability premium as well. thats another £15
  • I get income related ESA, so will be better off. The doctor who saw me told me i should claim pip and i would get it, off the record of course.
Will i get back pay for 92 days?
The DWP lady was convinced i would but she also mentioned extra payments of £36 and £15 not sure if she was getting muddled up.

i wouldn't take much notice of what an ESA assessor says about PIP ... they have totally different criteria, but it doesn't hurt to apply.

when you're already on ESA, they don't usually backdate, as the rate only changes from the date they make the decision, so I'm not sure what they mean
  • Thanks nannytone for clearing that up, being put in support group is enough, shame i didn't appeal when i was I/B and they put me in drag without a medical, but i was too afraid of rocking the boat.
    Thanks for the useful advice.
