WIFI in the garden.

I need to extend our current WIFI into the garden.
We live in a converted stone barn with meter thick walls. The WIFI inside the house is perfect but it doesn't penetrate the barn walls into the garden.
I have been looking at a few websites and asked questions of them, but to be frank, I don't really know if what they suggest is what I need.
One website has suggested this: https://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/products/16951-ubiquiti-uap-outdoor-uk/
It certainly looks like it will do the job and my understanding is I need to run an ethernet cable to it from the internal router. This should be very simple as I can mount the outside equipment on the barn wall nearest to the internal router.
Has anyone any recommends or advice on this suggestion. Thanks in advance.

Do you have a window in the barn facing the garden? If so perhaps wi-fi power adapters might be a solution, basically working as a repeater ...

I do but not near enough to a power socket, we've tried a TP Link plug-in adaptor on the wall furthest into the garden (near a patio door) and it just didn't get the range.0 -
Use an extension lead and a window sill?
And if wifi is fine indoors, I don't see any point in a powerline adapter (two devices) when wifi repeaters are available, e.g.
Netgear EX2700 - Wireless N300 Network Range Extender0 -

I'd rather not use an extension lead. The windows are all floor to ceiling so no cills. Hence why something outside would seem more appropriate. The router is in a "false wall" and the ethernet connection could be taken outside without any cables showing inside the house.
Edit - your pic wasn't there when I wrote my reply.....would that thing really get through our walls?0 -
It's not better than any wireless router in terms of walls penetration. It just repeats/extends your existing router from the point you place it at.
Put it in the loft then if you have one? Or on the outside wall near the window if you can get wifi there (of course you'll need some reliable plastic enclosure for outside).0 -
I'm also looking at a similar set up for my shed - no power going to it, so would need to be cabled somehow. Had thought of having a wifi extender but can't find one that is strong/powerful enough for the range0

I think this will be my issue, as it's the walls of our home that stop the range on most things. The more I read, the more the external system seems to be exactly what I'm looking for.
I have since had another email recommending this: http://www.cclonline.com/product/44710/TL-WA5210G/Wireless-Access-Points/TP-LINK-TL-WA50210G-2-4GHz-High-Power-Wireless-Outdoor-CPE/NET1533/
I shall give it some more research/thought.0 -
I see lots of "repeater" but, unless I've misread, you haven't tried a pair of adapters? There's every chance the 2 electrical circuits (house/barn) can "see" each other.

EDIT: you implied the barn has powerIf you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -

My post 3.
We've tried adapters. Tp Links ("homeplugs" I think they are referred to, I've not called anything a "repeater") including the version which uses the "homeplug" to give a wifi signal rather than just ethernet.
We live in the barn, so yes it has power.0 -
