I purchased a machine online, I plugged it in and used it once.
The noise on the spin cycle was terrible. I want to return it.
I phoned and they said I couldnt return it because I had plugged it in.
Is this correct?

Who did you buy it from ?
Whats the model number for the washer ?0 -
Probably a silly question, but have you double checked that you have removed all of the transit bolts and packing materials?0

They're probably assuming you want to return because you don't like it rather than because there's a (potential) fault with it. Contact them again and insist that you think it is faulty. You say there's a noise on the spin cycle, is this a strange noise or are you saying the spin cycle is just too load (in your opinion)?0 -
purchased from Currys. model is BOSCH WAE28462GB
definately removed transit bolts and packaging0 -
Again, mentioned in another thread, to reject the onus will be on the buyer to prove the fault exists and that it's inherent.RainbowBlue wrote: »According to specification the noise level on a spin should be 77dB whereas a Hotpoint WMFUG742G on Curry's is 80dB.
Call them and insists you think it has a fault. Remember you can reject goods within 30 days under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Make a note of who you call, time, date etc. Might be better to email customer services if rejecting under the 30 day rule.
I wouldn't be rejecting anything yet until they're sure a fault exists.0 -
Call the retailer back and ask them to send an engineer round, if it is faulty it will speed up either a replacement or fix.0

The reviews on the website for the model note that is is a quiet machine. so it does seem that your machine may be faulty. The only other thing you may need to enure is that the levelling feet on the washing machine are adjusted correctly, as an unbalanced machine can make a lot of noise on the spins.0 -
You're wrong I'm afraid.RainbowBlue wrote: »Not within the first 30 days. It's up to the shop to prove the fault!0 -
