Organising playlists on Google Play Music - Android phone

I use Google Play Music to stream music via bluetooth from my phone to the car stereo.
When I look at the music files on the phone (via my PC), all the songs are contained in one folder. However on Google play on my phone I have ended up with a couple of playlists which each have some songs that appear only in that playlist and some that appear in both playlists.
I would like to merge both playlists and delete the duplicated items, I cannot seem to find any means of doing this in Google play. Could anyone advise please?
I have considered deleting both existing playlists and then just creating a new one to include all the music, is this a possible solution?
Thanks

What are the playlists called? I think it'll automatically generate them. The app won't show you the 'files and folders' - it searches the whole phone (and memory card) and also shows you what you've got 'in the cloud' on Google Play (you can toggle this to show only what's on your phone). If you just want to play all your songs, ignore the playlists, and goto 'songs' - there will be a 'shuffle all' option at the top.
If you want to organise playlists, I can't see how to do that on my phone. Maybe it's possible on a tablet, but it'll definitely be possible on the web interface. My playlists come from iTunes, and are synced into the cloud via the Play Music companion app, then synced down to the phone. You can then make playlists available offline, whereupon the app downloads those tracks (do it over WiFi, not mobile!).0
