Sewing it yourself

I like to try sewing bits myself to save money. At the moment I'm using a great site with a load of free sewing tutorials that includes things like making a new skirt out of jeans and making washable wipes instead of buying kitchen paper towels. Has anyone else found any other sites like this? Need more ideas! :-D

I personally don't sew, well, as a recreational activity perhaps but all I can get is an Eldritch Abomination, so I guess it doesn't count in the end. But anyway, there should be tons of sewing tutorials in the Internet. Have you tried youtube?0

also cratsy classes, highly recommended0 -
I am a self confessed Pinterest addict and there are tons and tons of free patterns, tutorials and ideas on there. If I spent as much time on sewing as I did on Pinterest I would never have to buy any new clothes!0

Haha clickerty-chick me to! That's why I thought I'd ask for people's money saving sewing ideas rather than aimlessly browsing the sewing boards for days!0

I sew all the time, most of my ideas come from in my head. I cut up a flannelette sheet and made tea towels and dishcloths. No pattern needed. Cloth shopping bags are easy to make. I hand sew and machine sew, patchwork curtains, cushion covers, and a patchwork cover for my sewing machine. I cut up a full bed size summer duvet and made pet beds with it. I don't make clothes because they are cheap to buy from our Age UK shop, everything £1.
Youtube is good for videos. Do you have sewing courses at your college? Have you got a Crafty Club, commonly know as a knit and natter or a stitch and !!!!!? Like minded people could show you how to do something.

I just learned how to set up my sewing machine this afternoon, then made a dice bag, it isn't perfect but it does the job0
