Help with Vodafone

Hi guys, hope I'm posting in the right place.
Long version:
I'm in a contract with Vodafone where I get 7gb of data per month. Towards the end of last month I was close to going over my 7gb so Vofafone sent me a text advising I could add an extra 2gb or 1gb for £10 or £6 respectively. I decided to add both so for that month I had 10gb. So far so good.
I then received my bill to find I had been charged correctly for the 3mb I added for last month, but I was also charged £6 and £10 for this current month. THIS MEANS I WAS CHARGED MY ORIGINAL BILL + £32. I called up Vodafone who explained it was a recurring payment and they could stop it from recurring however as the month had started they were unable to refund the £16 charge for this month, but I would not be charged after that month. I thought that was fair enough as it was my fault for not reading the text properly.
Fast forward 3 weeks or so to 2 days ago and I had a text from Vodafone saying I was close to going over my data allowance, and asked if I would like to add 2gb or 1gb extra. At the time, I was unable to phone Vodafone and I couldn't be without data so I added the 2gb to my plan at the cost of £10.
My issue is I had already been charged for an extra 3gb to use in this current month therefore I presumed I had 10gb to use hence me using 7gb of data so soon into the month (it resets the 7th of each month).
Today, I called Vodafone to explain the situation and requested that the 10gb be available to me and for the additional 2gb I purchased be refunded as I needn't have got this if I had gotten the 10gb that I paid for. The lady said she would enable unlimited data on my phone for a month on my phone starting from midnight tonight running to midnight on the 28/03 (strange as I hadn't mentioned this but nice nonetheless) and said she didn't have the authority to issue a refund but she could put a request on the system to credit my account which takes up to 3 days apparently. She said she could cancel the 2gb I have purchased for this month but I would still be charged for it and the only way was to request them to credit my account. I told her to keep it on if I would still be charged then. I then asked her to cancel the recurring element of the payment so I wouldn't be charged for next month, which she did.
I asked her about the unlimited data for a month and she said it would be confirmed to me via text message following the conversation. She also told me the request to credit my account would be text to me too.
Following the phone call, the only texts I received was to say my 2gb had been cancelled and that I was out of data for this month and any data I used would be charged at £6.50 per 250mb.
I haven't had to use any data today but I will do from tomorrow and I can't afford to be paying £6.50 per 250mb.
Short version:
- Towards the end of last month I was close to going over my data with Vodafone. Added an extra 2gb and 1gb to my bill for £10 and £6.
- On my next bill I was charged for 2 lots of £16, which was data added on in the previous month and also for the current month we are in. I should have had 10gb for this month.
- A couple of days ago had text to say almost gone over data again. Couldn't contact Vodafone so had to add 2gb on.
- Contacted Vodafone today to get the 10gb I paid for and the extra 2gb refunded, lady said she will give me unlimited data for a month starting midnight and will put a request to credit my amount for £10.
- She said I would receive all of this confirmed via text message after the phone call.
- I requested she cancelled the recurring element of it so I weren't charged for next month, which she did.
- The only text I have received is to say my extra 2gb has been cancelled then another text to say I am out of data and I will be charged at £6.50 per 250mb.
What would people advise me to do next?
I'm worried that either we have misunderstood eachother or she hasn't done something quite right. I can't call Vodafone right now either as they are closed and I'm working all day tomorrow.
I do need to use data tomorrow, what will happen if she has done something wrong and I am being charged at £6.50 per 250mb? Will they have records of the phonecalls?
Sorry for the long post but didn't want to miss anything out.

To comment on your situation, they should have recordings of your phone call (and they should be able to provide transcripts, at a cost to you).
I would, however, be inclined to ring them again (tomorrow) before you go ahead and use any more data. This will hopefully prevent any future hassle.
I would also re-evaluate the plan you are currently signed up to. You can generally get a cheaper deal if you contract to monthly payments for data. I would, for example, explore the 'unlimited data' plans because they generally aren't too much more..
The last thing I'd want is to get into an argument with a phone company. They can be unbelievably unreliable at times.0 -

Thank you, I did think about re-evaluating my plan the last time I almost went over, however as I had hardly gone over 5gb in all the previous months I thought it weren't worth it. Now I've gone over again I mentioned it to the woman on the phone and she said because she's given me unlimited for a month its not worth discussing it until next month. But I'm definitely going to re-evaluate I think.0 -
wow that is some data usage your getting through0

Better to post this in the Phone Forum, where it will likely catch the eye of the Vodafone Rep - who can actually be quite useful in resolving problems.

I'm sure that your most helpful post will help OP to resolve their issues with Vodafone.0 -
So was your post any way helpful to the OP? Kettle, black.0
