Installing windows 7

I have quite an old Toshiba Laptop running on Vista.

How do I install Windows 7 on this machine?
Sorry, not very tech savvy at all.

is this an iso file or a physical DVD

you need a win7 disk and a license, once installed you can upgrade to win10 free. If it runs vista it will run 7 and 10 better than it runs vista.

Thank you for that. I thought it would be something like that.
Has Vista gone out of service yet or is it still usable?

It's in extended supported until 11 April 2017, so it'll continue getting security updates from Microsoft till then.
