  • Mind now boggling at managing with 6 pairs of knickers:rotfl:

At a guess - without counting them - and I would think I have around 20 pairs. My next set of knickers (still in packets) comes to 15 pairs (3 packets of 5 from Marks & Sparks).

I made the fatal mistake of putting boxes in the loft when I moved that are still there 5 (nearly 6) years later. This year I'm having an extension done, including new heating which requires ripping out all the pipework and the hot water tank which is, yes you guessed it, in the loft!

Don't stress about not getting everything done straight away, it's not the end of the world and you're better off doing it right once than constantly messing with it. But equally don't be tempted to put stuff away for the sake of getting it out of the way. Unless you are super organised, it may be "out of the way" for some time!

Get them out of the loft and out of your life at the same time. If you've lived without the contents for nearly 6 years, there's nothing in there you need or really really want.

OK, so you've been there for about 3 weeks now, do you feel any calmer? The run up to any move is always stressful and then you get kn4ckered doing too much physical work, and then you have to re-arrange a ton of stuff whilst working, cooking, cleaning etc. If you have had some rest and a few good nights sleep you should be able to deal with the priorities.

when I find myself stuck like a rabbit in the headlights, I sit down and write a list of between 3 and 5 things I want to get done. After I have written them down I then prioritise those, choosing the first and DO IT. That starts the ball rolling and I'm off.

I like lists because otherwise I butterfly around, and because you can 'see' the progress as you give yourself a tick when you complete a task.

Hope you are re-gaining control :)
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

I've known people who still have unpacked boxes after a few years:D

Take your time, don't panic and you'll get there, there's always the Indian takeaway

Family heirlooms I'm afraid, there would be hell to pay if I got rid. Pictures should be on the walls and clutter...I mean ornaments... in a cabinet :rotfl: The plumber needing access is just another reason to sort them. I plan to dispose of anything that won't cause a family rift.
