Can I use my Natwest VISA Debit card in any ATM?

Hi,

I have now got a NatWest visa Debit card but can I use any ATM anywhere to withdraw money from it? For example: outside a post office near my home

yes, though some ATM's may charge you.

Yes everywhere. There are a few cash points about that charge but they charge for cash withdrawals for all cards not just NatWest.

There will be a warning message on the screen if a charge is to be made - you can cancel the transaction at this stage without incurring a cost.

AFAIK an ATM part of the LINK network will usually be fee free; you'll find chargeable machines inside places like a pub, shops etc.

I think you can also use the card to withdraw cash over the counter IN the Post Office.


Natwest didn't used to allow this but I think that has changed

A small caveat: you can use the card at any ATM that displays the VISA sign. I'm not aware of any in the UK that don't do that, but there will certainly be some outside of the UK.

As long as you do not have a basic account with Natwest, they restrict those cards to Natwest ATM's only.

No they don't, that restriction was removed some time ago.
