Electric immersion heater overflowing

Hi
I have an economy 7 immersion heater in my airing cupboard the water inside the tank is higher than the overflow pipe causing it to leak out the overflow pipe. The float is at the end of the arm and won't adjust anymore.
Any advice on what I could do please

    Replace the float arm?

I'd bend it rather than trying to adjust it. If it breaks well you would have had to replace it anyway.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
  • If I try to bend the float arm down it's letting more water in so overflowing more.

If it is overflowing and the level is above the ball it needs a new valve or washer depending on what type of assembly is fitted.
  • Replace the ball valve, plumbers merchant /screw fix etc, it should be a part 2 ball valve not a part 1 which is prob what's fitted now
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
  • if its a metal arm its better to heat it with a torch then bend it, but let it cool slowly dont water cool it, it will be stronger.
