A County Court Judgement is a Judegment that the debt was due.
The Creditor had to take you to Court to get the debt paid.
That is how it looks on the file.
Your view on the rights or wrongs of the case are not considered by the Lenders computer.I am a Mortgage Broker

I think most of you are missing the point and are confused.
The ccj is not for not paying a debt but if there was a debt in the first place.
A CCJ is a debt you have refused to pay and a court has ruled you should pay it and you were unable to pay it at that point.Apparently I was duped into signing a sole selling contract that i wasn't aware of -took the word of the agent when he came and never sent me a copy. Anyway turned out the estate agent has done this to a lot of people yet the court found said I had to pay them.
When they did I paid, so NOT a ccj for not paying.
If you had paid it on the spot then you would not have got a CCJ. You didnt pay it and got a CCJ. You paid it two years later. That is the date you satisfied the debt.
Whether you feel that was right or wrong does not matter. The facts of the case are that you had a debt to pay and you didnt pay it on demand and it needed the courts to get you to pay it and you then took two years to pay it.Having a bank account for that long and clearly showing a good income plus paying my mortgage on time all the time, for the past ten years, I believe makes me more than an average customer - especially given the keep pestering me to take a credit card and other credit products.
most consumers are not taken to court for non-payment of a debt (a debt is something you owe. It doesnt just mean credit card or loan. it can be your phone bill or a bill for an electrician etc). I'm afraid you are deluded on what is considered average let alone "model customer". You need to face up to the fact that you are neither average or model customer material.
Marketing does not pre-credit score you. You can get leaflets etc and be turned down.Given I've had this all the time I've been with then and it come off soon I feel the 'human' touch would have been nice and basica customer sevice.
But your debt history shows you as unreliable in paying debts and court action being required to get you to pay and also taking two years to pay it.I understand that different lenders have different criteria but I should have been told this in the bank when I spent two hours doing the application. That and they way the application has been handled by the advisor is the reason I'm complaining.
The bank clerk doesnt know if you are going to get the mortgage or not. It would be referred to their underwriters or higher up the line to make that decision. There is absolutely no way for a clerk to know inside the two hours you mention.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If you pay off a CCJ within one calendar month of issue and inform the courts as mentioned above, then the CCJ is immediately removed from your credit report, but not otherwise. If it is not paid off within this period then it will stay on your credit report for 6 years from the issue date whether paid in full or not.
Please do not delude yourself that you are a model customer.0
