Wireless door bell with on off switch?

Hi
For years I've enjoyed not having a door bell as when I did 95% of the calls were unwanted. However for deliveries it is useful to have one.
Therefore is there such a thing a a wireless doorbell with an on/off switch?
Thanks

    Probably not but....

My doorbell is wireless, and I have it plugged into a mains socket. When I don't want it to ring, I just turn the switch on the socket to off.
  • The sounder part thingy of our wireless doorbell plugs into a mains socket, switch the socket off or unplug it, jobs a good 'un

Wouldn't people just knock on the door when they cannot hear that a doorbell has sounded?

  • I live in a flat four floors up so the caller would expect to hear the bell if they rang it.
I thought about switching on and off at the mains. Do you not have to reset the system after turning it off at the mains? (ie to link the ringer and sounder). I live on my own and do not want to be troubling my neighbours regularly to do this.

As above. I have one and it can be turned off at the socket. All the units I have encountered are paired out of the box and remain that way so turning them off is fine.

    Same with mine
  • Mine has a switch that lets you choose sound only, flashing light or both. Bought it on Amazon, nothing fancy.

But as has been pointed out you can't stop people knocking, like our postman who ignores the bell and bangs the knocker as loudly as possible.
  • Is there a doorbell that switches itself off when it spots a Mormon?.
