Microwave problem

Hi - I wonder if anyone can help me? I have a Sharp R254 800E microwave which is about 18 months old. Inside the microwave on the right hand wall (as you look into the microwave) there is a small oblong piece of what appears to be very thin perspex or similar, which slots onto the wall to cover a recess thingie (sorry I am not very technical). Anyway this cover thingie keeps falling off and the slots which you attach it to the wall with are split so it won't stay put. Can you buy replacements for this and is the microwave safe to use without it in place? I have been on the Sharp website but can see it listed as a spare part. Many thanks.
Jane

i guess you mean the wave guide cover. There have been a couple of threads on them previously:-

I'm not sure how you'd slot it onto the side though.0
