personal details Whitepages.co.uk

Not sure where to post this. I want to have my personal details removed from whitepages.co.uk Has anyone tried this successfully by filling in their form http://www.whitepages.co.uk/contact-us/

Also, can you have your details changed to opt-out of the open register (I thought I had) retrospectively if you don't live at the address anymore>

I wouldn't bother with removing your details. When you were on the open register hundreds of websites and companies will have obtained and stored your details. It will be impossible to remove your information from all of them.

I've used the White Pages data removal form quite successfully, I can't remember exactly how long it took, as I also did the same with 192.com and other similar companies, and they all had different minimum deadline time frames to remove the data. I also opted out of the open register aswell, and since doing both, I have definitely noticed the difference in nuisance cold calls, which were becoming excessive despite being ex-directory and registered with TPS, and so it was well worth the effort for me.

Thanks, have done 192 a few years ago and my details were removed. Good to hear that it worked for you williacg.

The open register doesn't contain your phone number. They usually get this information when you fill out forms online such as comparison sites. I'm not registered with TPS, I'm in the phone directory and my name and address is on all these websites from before I opted out. But I rarely get and nuisance calls and haven't had one so far this year!.

It doesn't hurt (or cost) to cover all bases with these irritants.
  • Not listed. Been on the restricted register for years. No problemo!

My problem is not with calls. I don't like my details being listed on the internet, together with who else lived or has lived at that address.

You need to contact each of these websites and ask them to remove your data. Not sure they have any obligation to do that though.
