  • Morning ((((((((((hugs))))))))))if you need one.

Tru, so pleased to hear that you dad is ok, I know just how he must have felt when he could not get his breath!!

Getting up shortly, have to go to the library to take books back, also need to get fire lighters although I am hoping we will not need them soon.

We have been talking about the open fire, we both love it, but getting in coal and logs, cleaning it out etc is a chore and I totted up how much it had cost us this winter, I was shocked when I discovered it was £52 a month on top of the bill for the storage heaters. So we have decided not to have the inset stove put in but block off the fireplace with an inset electric fire. Once the sitting room storage heater goes down we will have the electric fire if we need it.

No idea when we might get the gas central heating put in, but we would not be able to use an open fire then, the boiler is put in the cupboard in the hall and the chimney used for the vent. We would have paid out £1200 for nothing.

Hope your move is going ok Elona, I will send you a message when you are back on line again.
  • Nearly afternoon and I have been busy today doing lots of uninteresting things. Will carry on.
    Hope everyone is well

Busy morning today. Up at sparrow-fart to feed and walk Jack, then into town for my audiology appointment. The audiologist has tweaked the setings on my hearing aid, though she says there's not a lot more tweaking she can do.:( I can (usually) tell if someone's speaking to me, but I still lose the consonants. So "Dotty" sounds exactly like "Poppy".:(

Got our usual F&V supplies, then went in search of a new battery-operated toothbrush, as our expired. Very little choice - most places only seem to carry the mega-expensive sonic jobbies. I even saw one on a shelf at over £200. It can stay on the shelf at that price! Finally got one in good old $uperdrug - £4.99 for the base with one head, and £9.99 for a pack of 4 additional heads. So that's one each for us and 3 spares. Paid for with £1 I had on my loyalty card, £13 in L0ve to Sh0p vouchers from surveys, and 98p in cash. :money:

Also got 2 packs of 8 AA batteries (on BOGOF) in B00ts, all paid for with points on my card. :money:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Evening - am back in my own home :j no matter how nice (and warm) it is at mum's place I do like being here. The drive home was glorious with such great views all the way - the lack of rain was such a joy.

OH rang halfway up as he's in the middle of making arrangements to finish working :j and needed to get car insurance for the first time in umpteen years. The perk of a company car is no good when it comes to getting personal car insurance. Anyway, it seems it's cheaper if I'm a named driver on his insurance as I have a full record and a clean licence. So, I'm good for something at least! :rotfl::rotfl:

I've got one and a half birthday cakes to eat up, I may just manage it by Wednesday. I got the steak I wanted and will have it tomorrow with some salad and wine. Whilst shopping the other day I found a very tasty white wine which glugged down very well so bought some more today to store away.

Getting ready to watch TV in bed!

    Evening all,

Been home a few hours we had a good trip and came home with a delightful tiny puppy, she is 8 months old and a jackapoo but more Jack than anything, she is jet black with a tiny bit of white on her chest, she is a rescue and I have kept it quiet as one moment we were having her and the next not, the woman who had her was trying to sell her to anyone she just wanted money for her :( but she is here now and settled and will be staying forever :T

She is a complete time waster though ! all I am doing is watching her all the time and having lots of cuddles !
