    Most a/c's require that you put in (up to) 1k per mth and have 2 direct debits going out from it.

    Think you've missed badgers point.

    You need to fund the accounts, which you can do by standing order but not by direct debit, that is a separate process.

    Direct debits need to be set up to pull money out, rather than push money in as by standing order.
