Vax hose jammed in vacumn cleaner.

Had it for a few months now and it was the opposite before, the slightest touch I gave the hose connection it came out but it was fine in normal use, though noticed suction became weaker so as part of that I checked to see if hose was dirty and when I put it back noticed suction was far stronger.

I went to take it off today to do small gaps under furniture and noticed it was jammed tightly in, in the process of trying to force it out the hose part removed itself though I managed to put it back in place.

I even tried using combination pliers to remove it, unscrewing part of the base and its stuck in tightly.

What can be used to remove it? I don't have any oil but have WD40.
