Hi
I'm on a low carb diet and instead of carbohydrates I consume a lot of fat, it's working really well.
On unexpected issue is the amount of grease and oil I go through. In the mornings I make myself fatty coffee (black coffee, 2tbsp butter, 2tbsp coconut oil). Thiis leaves all my stuff really oily, knife, spoon, blender all greased up inside. I'm not sure how to deal with this - should I wipe eveting down with a kitchen towel before putting it in the sink,or double dose on the washing up liquid.
The sink is already showing singns of being blocked, any suggestions?

No practical suggestions, but as an aside I am wondering a little what the amount of fat is doing to your innards? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
nothing, the body goes into ketosis and burns fat for fuel thus burns bodyfat whenever it needs energy.
OTOH on a typical high carb, zero fat, low protein diet , body always gets more carbs than it can consume and learns to just convert carbs into fat to use when there is a food shortage, but the food shortage never comes.0 -
When I have a greasy pan, I squirt a little washing up liquid in it, then rub it all over with a sponge before giving a rinse with hot water. Then I wash it up as normal.
A little washing up liquid on a sponge for items like cups will also work.
Don't put any fat that will become solid down the drain. Scrape it out with some kitchen towel and bin it before doing the above.
I don't think there is much difference between the various washing up liquids re degreasing (with the exception of the really cheap value stuff, which in my experience are rubbish as you have to use more for the same effect).0 -

Do you have a garden?
What I'd do is place the knife/fork in the blender, squirt of washing up liquid, then pour boiling water from the kettle in. I'd then leave it 5 minutes, then take the knife/fork out and drop them in the sink and walk the blender outside to a designated handy spot - I'd then tip the top couple of inches of water out and swish the rest about a bit, then tip a bit more out and give it all a swish around ..... and tip all but 2" of water out and give it a final swish around.... then empty that last bit into the designated handy spot.
Then, back indoors, I'd just put another squirt of water in the blender, top up with boiling water and leave until I fancied washing up. Or wash it immediately in tap hot water.0 -
I use old yogurt pots lined with a little silver foil to pour any excess oil in while pans are still warm then bin when it's full and set. Don't bother with Aldi's washing up liquid. It's useless on fat0

What are you using to protect your kidneys and liver from the harmful by products of ketosis?0 -
A friend of mine went on one of these ridiculous diets, rather than concentrate on eating a more healthy diet and good food.
She has total kidney failure, has dialysis four times a week, is in general poor health, hair loss etc.
Hope you are having regular health checks OP - don't believe everything you read on the internet.0
