    It's time to stop flogging a dead horse. Many of us are heartily sick of the whole PPI thing - especially the endless nuisance calls.

    People have had years to put in a claim. Surely there can't be anyone out there now who doesn't know that they can claim if they think they have been mis-sold. If anybody hasn't claimed yet, then either they are so utterly disorganised that they never will claim, or they don't think it was mis-sold to them at all.

    Just announce an end date, make sure everybody knows what it is, then call and end to the matter.

    Disclosure: I do own some shares in a bank.
    If it sticks, force it.
    If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
